  • Overview

In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, 2020 saw a 20% reduction in tuberculosis cases from 2019. This dramatic reduction is owed, in part, to pandemic mitigation procedures. However, as the United States investigates re-opening and resuming normal life, these TB infection numbers could increase as well, along with the likelihood of pharmacist being consulted on treatment.

This case-based investigation of TB will discuss the management of tuberculosis, latent tuberculosis infection (LTBI), and multidrug resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB), as well as how to manage these conditions when drug-interactions are present.
