  • Overview

Interest in assessment and treatment of men’s health and andropause has been on a steady rise for years. This is due, in part, to more prescription therapy becoming available, such as different forms of testosterone delivery and concentrations, as well as an increase in awareness that men do suffer a change in life in regard to declining hormones.

Conventionally, most of the focus is on the prostate, lipid therapy, a possible testosterone reading, or whatever chief complaints the patient presents with.

As pharmacists and clinicians, there is tremendous opportunity for us to guide men’s health to the next level. Certainly, looking at preventative options, as well as to support the patient in thriving, not just surviving, recognizing the role of healthy androgen levels, as well as other influencing factors such as body mass index, stress levels, thyroid health and more.

This CE will guide you through a broad and comprehensive approach to assessing and treating men’s health. You will be able to define andropause and recognize who it affects, identify the risks that could be related to testosterone therapy, define strategies for risk reduction, as well as recognize the different options for treatment, including medication therapy, supplements, diet, and lifestyle.
